Volunteer With Us!

Volunteers play an enormous part of the work we do at The Hmong Institute.  We are a community partner that is all about building community capacity for anyone who is interested to enhance their Hmong knowledge and experience, resulting in strengthening the community they live in.  As volunteers you will not only give, but be able to inspire our young minds as mentors in our youth program.  Gain from meeting and building a diverse network via our community events and programs.

We welcome your support through different volunteer venues as listed below.  If you have more questions, send an email to maizong.vue@theHmongInstitute.org or peng.her@theHmongInstitute.org.  Thank you!

FOod Care Program

Food Care Program

As a volunteer, you’ll have the rewarding opportunity to support our mission of addressing food insecurity within the underserved communities. Your role may include packaging food boxes and loading to family’s cars. The benefits you receive are networking with other professionals and enjoying our delicious Hmong meal.

Youth Program

Youth Program

We offer exciting opportunities to empower and foster young leaders through a variety of different youth programs. While our Hmong Language and Cultural Enrichment Program (HLCEP) strengthen youth identities, the Hmong Day At The State Capitol exposes our youth to state government and promote productive civic engagement. Join us in making a positive impact on Hmong youth by volunteering with our organization today.

Volunteer

Hmoob Kaj Siab
(Senior Center)

We recognize the importance of having a home-away-from-home, a holistic-wrapped around service model, for Hmong and other underserved seniors. At Hmoob Kaj Siab, seniors receive case management services, mental health and psychiatric services, educational field trips, daily home-cooked meals, transportation, and culturally relevant food. Volunteers will have the opportunity to contribute to our mission of supporting and empowering elders to maintaining their well-being.
