Hello community partners and supporters,
As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread across the U.S., The Hmong Institute, Inc. is taking the appropriate steps to respond to this public health emergency. Our number one priority is the health of our staff, volunteers, and of course our clients and participants who have been hit the hardest by this virus. We are taking extra precautions to protect our most vulnerable populations.
Our management team is assessing the situation daily and following all recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Wisconsin Department of Health Services, UW Health, and Public Health Madison & Dane County.
Starting Wednesday, March 18, we will make the following change to our services.
Life Center Will Be Closed To The Public Until Further Notice: At the recommendation of Public Health Madison & Dane County to mitigate the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) we will be closing Life Center to the public and seeing clients by appointment only. Updates will be made on the website as we learn more about COVID-19 in our community. We are concerned with protecting the health and safety of our participants, and the current community health status. We will open Life Center and resume programming just as soon as possible.
Case Management and Service Facilitation: Hmoob Kaj Siab case managers and service facilitators will continue conducting appointments with clients. However, these appointments may be conducted by phone to limit person to person contacts. If a home visit is absolutely necessary, our case managers and service facilitators will take the appropriate health safety measures before going into the home.
Meal Sites: Meals served onsite will be closed. We will offer home delivery of food boxes to clients.
We will continue to monitor COVID-19 and update changes to our services.
Thank you for your patience.
