To foster a just and equitable society, we partner with local business, organizations (private or public), governmental and community at different levels. Through the support of MG&E, we host a monthly Hmong Community Networking meeting for Hmong individuals. Our advocacy work include the Hmong Educational Council and WI State Superintendent Advisory’s Council in order to address state policy that affects our community.
The Hmong Institute also partners with Edgewood College to offer the Hmong American Community Certificate Program and the Hmong Health Summit while we partner with Madison College to offer cultural workshops.
Arts is culture! Cultural heritage is the foundation to build a strong individual. We are honor to receive support from the Wisconsin Arts Board to bring Hmong artist residents to expose and teach Hmong folk music students in Hmong Language and Culture Enrichment Program since 2017.
The Hmong Institute served as the lead Resident Panel for the Imagine Madison process by organizing and conducting input sessions for Hmong residents. Hmong residents were able to provide input on how on future of Madison in regards to Housing, Transportation, Park and Rec, Community Space, Employment, Education, and Culture.
